Philly Travel Morris Arboretum!
Philly Travel Morris Arboretum!
At the end of the fall we bought a membership to Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia. We havent taken much advantage of our membership, so we decided to head there last weekend to walk around and see what was in bloom for spring!

There was plenty to see, although with my husband being a little under the weather we didnt walk around the whole place! I just love these flowers and couldnt stop taking photos of them! We were slightly disappointed they didnt have the train set up, its only open as a special exhibit in the fall and winter I guess.

One special exhibit we stumbled upon was this little village of sculptures made from different willow branches! It was created by artist Patrick Dougherty and is called "A Waltz in the Woods." Each structure has doors and windows which made it fun for kids to run through and play peek-a-boo! You can read more info about this work here!

Carter loved looking at the water! I was nervous so I told him he had to SIT and couldnt walk around. Some "big boys" were throwing sticks and dirt into the water, so of course Carter had to copy!

This little stream is right behind the "A Waltz in the Woods" installation. Isnt it peaceful?

We also saw some wildlife in the swan pond! Which was good, because as we drove up Carter kept talking about animals and we realized he thought we were going to the zoo. We saw plenty of ducks and swans and these snacks sunning themselves on the rocks at the pond!
Theres plenty to see at Morris Arboretum! I didnt take a ton of pictures this time because weve been a few times before, but there is a rose garden, tree house, sculpture garden, fernery and more! Definitely worth checking out if you live near Philly or plan to travel here and have an extra morning!
Have you been to Morris Arboretum?
